Nicholas Hartnett, Owner

Our owner, Louisville native and UK alum, Nicholas Hartnett, began his journey in the solar industry as a sales rep in Southern California in 2013. After gaining much needed experience in solar design and sales, Nick moved back home in 2017 to start Pure Power Solar because he saw great potential in the Louisville solar market. In an industry plagued by deceptive sales tactics and fly by night installation companies, Nick set out to build an honest and reputable solar company that operated with integrity.

At Pure Power Solar we are different from many of the competitors because we have full control of every aspect of the installation. Everything we do is installed by our in-house crew with no subcontractors involved in any aspect of the installation. This is how we have cultivated such a great reputation.

We only work with local sales reps and we completely refrain from deceptive marketing and high pressure sales. Our Sales Director is Kevin Anderson, and he fully upholds our standards when it comes to sales ethics leading by example.

Through our first 500 installations so far, we have maintained an A+ with the BBB, and have never received anything less than a 5 star review on Google. Kevin Anderson, Sales Director

Kevin is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to solar. He will thoroughly design and explain a custom solar system made specifically for your home. On top of that he is also very passionate about selling solar the right way with integrity.

Kevin has been our sales director since 2021 and we are very lucky to have him as a part of the team. Outside of work, Kevin is a great father to his three boys.

If he isn’t selling solar or being a dad, he is most likely golfing

Mike Smith, Master Electrician

Mike is a long time professional in residential and commercial electrical work. He is in charge of making the final connection to the grid, while ensuring the system is up to code and passes inspections. He does not accept anything other than quality work and we love that about him.

Mike is a great husband, father, and grandfather and his family would be the first to tell you that! Mike works a lot, but when he is not working you can find him hanging out at his pool and spending time with his family.

Operations and Service Manager: Michael Palazzo

Michael has a passion for helping homeowners obtain freedom and security when it comes to the electrical grid. Michael, a Veteran of the Air Force, was with the company at inception way back in 2017, and actually coined the name Pure Power Solar! After a long stint at the local Porsche dealership, We have grown to the point where Pure Power Solar can really benefit from his skill set and were lucky to be able to bring him back on full time. From quality control for our new installations, to keeping up with service requests and ensuring our previous customers are taken care of, he is a great addition to the team. Michael is Nick’s uncle, and adds to the family atmosphere of Pure Power Solar. Outside of work he is known as the unanimous “favorite sibling” in his large family of 9 brothers and sisters, while being a great father and husband to his own family.

Kelsy Hartnett, Office Admin/Project Manager

Kelsy is Nick’s cousin, and she is back at Pure Power Solar after taking off some time after having a new baby. Kelsy has spent many years at Pure Power Solar, and she is very helpful with getting customers through permitting, inspections, and setting them up with their monitoring portals. If someone who has had solar installed previously by another company reaches out with questions, Kelsy is likely the one who they will talk to and set up appointments through. We are very happy to have Kelsy back on the team!

Brian Hoeppner & Evan Berrios, Installation Crew Leaders

With 8 years of installation experience between them, all working for Pure Power Solar,, Brian and Evan have led installation crews on hundreds of systems. From properly mounting the system to a roof, to all of the aesthetics with your solar install, we have full confidence in Brian and Evan’s ability to do this at a very high level. Installing solar is not an easy job and these guys work very hard to deliver quality installations. Outside of work, Brian is the biggest Chiefs fan you will find, and was a fan long before Mahomes arrived! Evan is a great father to his young son, and enjoys fishing when he gets the chance!

Ignacio Marroquin & Jayson Baker, Installation Crew Specialists

Ignacio and Jayson entered the solar industry 3 years ago, and we were ecstatic to add them both to the Pure Power Solar team in early 2024. They have mastered the roof portion of solar installations and have been a phenomenal addition to the team over the last 2 years. Both of these guys bring incredible attitudes to work everyday and are a pleasure to be around for customers as well as coworkers.

Mike Hartnett, Lead Management

Mike is Nick’s father, and he has been with the team since 2023. He is crucial in sorting through our leads that come in and reaching out to potential customers. If you inquire about solar on our website or via phone, there is a likely chance you will receive a call back from Mike. In his spare time, Mike enjoys playing pickleball and spending time with family. He is a retired sportscaster for Wave News, but you can still catch him on TV for the Derby each May!

Lindsay Hartnett, Office Manager

Lindsay is the Boss’s boss. This is Nick’s Wife and she started working in the business at the beginning of 2023.

From keeping us organized, all the way to getting systems through permitting and net metering approvals, she has made all of our lives much easier since joining the team.

Northern Kentucky Sales and Design: Marc Hukle

Marc has a passion for the Solar industry, and is fully aligned with our mission to sell solar the right way. If you reach out to us from Northern Kentucky, you can be confident that Marc will get you the information you are seeking, while setting proper expectations for the system and operating with zero sales pressure.

Kyle Grubbs, Event Coordinator

If you meet us at an event, homeshow, or anywhere else that we have a booth setup, it is likely that you will be meeting Kyle first.

Kyle is part time with Pure Power Solar, and spends a lot of his time as a supervisor at UPS. Kyle sets up our information booth at a few events each month so we can continue to meet people who want to pursue information for solar on their home. We are happy to have Kyle on the team.

Tucker, Office Security

If you come to the office you will most likely be greeted by Tucker staring you down through the glass door, or barking at you.

Everyone who comes in is put through Tucker’s thorough sniff inspection. After passing his inspection, Tucker is a very cute and nice pup.

His only rule that he enforces is “no other dogs allowed.”
